Planner

Beam Planning is a recently established planning consultancy, founded with the aim to illuminate the path and support our clients on their planning journey. Beam brings together three experienced directors who have a collective 44 years of experience in large private consultancy. The three directors decided to start their own firm focused on working on the most important projects in NSW in a collaborative environment where excellence and innovation thrive. Our current projects include a range of planning proposals, policy development and advice, as well as local, regional and state significant development applications.

We are looking for a Planner to join our growing team. If you are passionate about planning and have a tertiary qualification in Planning or related degree/discipline, this is your chance to join an exciting new business from its inception.

 

The ideal candidate will have good time management skills, a knowledge of the NSW planning system, and an eagerness to work in various facets of the system. Quality communication and writing skills are also required for the role, as well as a willingness to learn and contribute to the growth of the consultancy. Experience in planning or a related field is desirable, but not a necessity.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with each director across a range of exciting projects. Day-to-day activities will include working closely with the directors to provide planning advice to clients, liaising with clients and consent authorities; writing Statement of Environmental Effects and Environmental Impact Statements; reviewing, analysing, and summarising planning polices and legislation; and attending meetings and industry events.

 

Key requirements for this role include:

• A Tertiary qualification in Planning or related degree/discipline.

• Planning experience is desirable, but not a necessity.
